Thomas M. Reardon is the executive director of BIFMA – the Business & Institutional Furniture Manufacturers Association, the North American trade association representing interests of commercial furniture manufacturers and their suppliers. In this capacity he’s responsible for setting the strategic direction of the organization, leadership of the BIFMA team, and day-to-day operational performance.
Tom joined BIFMA in 1990 as the Manager of Research & Information with responsibility for the industry market statistics program. Tom was promoted to Executive Director in 1997 and has been integral in establishing BIFMA as the proactive voice of the commercial furniture industry. This through collaborative relationship building and by providing leadership on sustainability issues, including development of an open emissions testing protocol and launch of the level® sustainability certification program for furniture.
Tom’s furniture industry career spans more than three decades and began in marketing and product development with Haworth, Inc. Prior to that Mr. Reardon held a variety of engineering support, sales and administrative positions with United Technologies Automotive Group. The Michigan native holds a bachelors degree in business administration.
